A premium-looking phone with a big battery and seven years of updates, but reviewers say a $50 price rise for small changes makes it hard to recommend.

Where opinions differ
| Topic | Favourable view | Reserved view |
|---|---|---|
| Price | TechRadar sees "a big premium Samsung experience for the smallest possible price". | Engadget and TechRadar criticise a $50 increase for small improvements; the Galaxy S26 costs only $200 more. |
| Cameras | The main camera matches features from Samsung's premium phones. | The 8 MP 3x telephoto is dated and produces soft, overexposed shots; the camera app can feel sluggish. |
| Performance | TechRadar finds gaming performance surprisingly good. | Engadget notes struggles with demanding games, and only 8 GB of RAM limits multitasking. |
| Display | Smooth and colourful. | Full HD only, and 1,900 nits peak versus 2,600 nits on the Galaxy S26. |
Scores: 6.7/10 from Engadget and 3.5/5 from TechRadar.

Verdict
The Galaxy S26 FE is a pleasant, long-lasting phone with excellent software support. But the price increase makes it less attractive: the standard Galaxy S26 is not much more expensive, and a discounted older Galaxy S model or a cheaper mid-ranger may offer better value.
