A different kind of duel

The OnePlus 15 and the Pixel 11 Pro sit at roughly the same price, but they answer different questions. OnePlus built the phone with the best battery life of 2025 and 2026, a gaming-grade screen and very fast charging. Google built a compact phone driven by software: Gemini AI, computational photography and seven years of updates.

There is a new factor in 2026: in July, OnePlus confirmed that it will no longer release new products in North America and Europe. The OnePlus 15 sold out on OnePlus.com in the US, Canada and Mexico, according to PhoneArena. OnePlus promises to keep supporting existing customers with warranty service, software updates and security patches, and phones that get Android 17 will switch from OxygenOS to Oppo's ColorOS, according to SlashGear. In the US and Europe, buying a OnePlus 15 now means remaining stock at third-party sellers. In markets such as India, OnePlus continues as before.

Battery and charging: the OnePlus in a league of its own

This is the OnePlus 15's defining strength. With a 7,300 mAh silicon-carbon battery, it lasted 25 h 13 min in Tom's Guide's web-browsing test, a record, and reviewers agree it easily lasts two days. The Pixel 11 Pro managed 13 h 25 min in the same test, slightly worse than the Pixel 10 Pro.

Charging widens the gap: 80 W wired in the US (about 81 % in 30 minutes according to Tom's Guide) and 50 W wireless with OnePlus's own charger, against 30 W wired and 25 W wireless for the Pixel. The Pixel's consolation is PixelSnap, built-in Qi2 magnets for chargers, stands and wallets.

Performance and gaming

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the OnePlus 15 is much more powerful than Google's Tensor G6, which Tom's Guide calls "seriously weak" in raw performance. PhoneArena praises the OnePlus's thermal stability, and its screen runs games at up to 165 Hz. For everyday use both feel fast; for demanding games and long sessions, the OnePlus wins clearly.

Cameras: zoom and consistency against versatility

  • Pixel 11 Pro: the stronger photo phone for most people. Its 5x telephoto reaches further than the OnePlus's 3.5x, its portraits and night shots are consistent, and Google's processing rarely misses. AI tools such as Magic Capture add creative options.
  • OnePlus 15: three 50 MP cameras and a very flexible video system (8K at 30 fps, 4K at 120 fps, Dolby Vision, LOG), according to TechRepublic. Reviews are mixed on photos: PhoneArena sees better image quality than before, while Droid Life finds heavy contrast and sharpening in close-ups and Tom's Guide a soft selfie camera.

Screen and design

The OnePlus has the bigger 6.78-inch screen, about 16 % more area than a 6.3-inch Pixel according to TechRepublic, better for games and video. The Pixel's 6.3-inch screen is brighter (3,600 nits peak) and the phone is easier to use with one hand. Reviewers describe the OnePlus 15's design as plain, while the Pixel keeps its recognizable camera bar.

Software and long-term support

The Pixel gets seven years of Android and security updates and new Android versions first; it launched with Android 17. The OnePlus 15 gets four Android updates, with security support until November 2031 according to TechRepublic, and its future updates will come as ColorOS. OnePlus says existing phones remain supported, but its exit from the US and Europe makes long-term service there less certain. If you keep phones for five years or more, this tips the balance toward the Pixel.

Which one should you buy?

  • Battery life matters more than anything: the OnePlus 15, by a huge margin.
  • You play demanding games: the OnePlus 15, with its Snapdragon chip and 165 Hz screen.
  • You want the best zoom and reliable photos: the Pixel 11 Pro.
  • You use Gemini and Google services every day: the Pixel 11 Pro.
  • You keep a phone for five years or more: the Pixel 11 Pro and its seven-year promise.
  • You live in the US or Europe and want easy after-sales service: the Pixel 11 Pro, sold and supported everywhere by Google.
  • You find a OnePlus 15 well below $899 from a trusted seller: it remains excellent value, as TechRepublic concludes.

Verdict

On pure specs, the OnePlus 15 is the better phone for the money: much better battery life, faster charging and more power, at a lower launch price. But in 2026 the decision is not only about specs. With OnePlus leaving the US and Europe, the Pixel 11 Pro is the safer long-term buy there, with seven years of updates, Google's after-sales network, a better zoom and the most advanced Gemini features. Choose the OnePlus 15 if you find one at a good price and battery life is your priority; choose the Pixel if you want a phone you can keep, and get serviced, for years.
